This project was completed in our materials and methods class. The idea was to produce a set of construction documents that would help us understand the process through which a project must go through. The program was a Special Collections Pavilion and Reading Room for the University of Florida, located in Gainesville, FL. The idea was to understand the process and the level of detail to complete important drawings crucial to the development of the project. The pavilion consists of two materials glass and steel, of which was implemented in the design in various ways. The project has a series of fins of frosted glass that would compose the exterior envelope of the pavilion. This skin would provide internal shading from the harsh Florida sun. The program consisted of an internal courtyard, reading room, restrooms and bookstacks for the special collection books. The drawings exhibited are drawings that I worked on, except for the visual section render to the right, this drawing was produced by Paola Bieri.
